„Lovely hotel with nice staff“

„Absolutely loved this hotel to stay they had everything we needed and would return! Lovely location Food from the palm was stunning! And the bar staff made me cocktails that wasn’t on the menu! Only con was that a loud fan come on in the night and woke us up and on the tables near the pond from the bar is that they wasn’t maintained glasses weren’t maintained and bird poo/ cobwebs all over the tables. Just needed a quick clean! But overall was an amazing stay! “

„The room was very spacious and comfortable. The property is old (steeped in history) but the room had all the features we needed. The instructions were excellent and the owners were incredibly responsive and helpful. The bed was a little creaky and the pillows were a little thin/soft for my preferences, but perfectly comfortable and adequate. Great value for money. Great location. Highly recommend the breakfast!! A great stay - would stay again. “

„The hotel is situated in a beautiful area. The small village has 1 or 2 dinner possibilities around the market place and is charming - at least the center is. The hotel could use a lick of paint here ant there and you see that the owners do their best, but the castle is very large and surely there is much to do. They have tried to connect modernity and antique, of which I like the latter more. I visited the fitness studio, which was ok. There is a restaurant in the hotel with good food and cool ...

„Das Hotel (von 1462) liegt am Horseshoe-Pass, somit etwas abgelegen. Die Zimmer sehr urig, aber sauber. Sehr schöner Kneipen-Bereich, Frühstück sehr gut, Service klasse“

„Wenn Hotelgäste im Nebenzimmer keine Rücksicht nehmen (von 3 Uhr bis 5 Uhr morgens), dann nützt das ruhige Zimmer im Innenhof nicht! Das Personal war aber freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück könnte man verbessern. Für die Weiterreise nach Nord-Wales ist das Hotel an bester Lage (direkter Anschluss an einer Hauptstrasse). Es gibt auch ein Park-and-Ride nach Chester in der Nähe.“

„I cannot fault this hotel. My partner and I had a lovely two-night stay. We opted for a classic double room and (unlike other standard double rooms I’ve stayed in, where you can barely move around the bed) it was a great sized room with a huge bed. Our stay included breakfast and it was very good - hot buffet and also cold bits (ham, cheese, yoghurt and fruit, croissants, etc) - something for everyone. Restaurant 32A was so good we had two dinners and a lunch there - the food was really good, ...

„This is the most quaint place I’ve ever stayed. After talking to the owner, this used to be an old courthouse. many years ago. Highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for old world charm, and to find a piece of history in the Wrexham area. The people the service and the food are top-notch. Highly recommend.“

„Leider super schlechter Service, keine Reinigung zwischen den Tagen, Personal unfähig. Wir mussten beim Auschecken ewig warten, obwohl alles bezahlt war, da die Dame dies nicht fand - man kam sich sehr doof vor. Alles super alt und in die Jahre gekommen, Badtür lässt sich nicht schließen, ….“

„Unterbringung in einem Haus aus dem 16. Jahrhundert... mit Charme und allem Komfort ! Nun... dass man die Schuhe unten ausziehen musste war gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber letztendlich kein Problem. Das Frühstück sollte 15 Minuten vor dem Erscheinen im Frühstücksraum telefonisch geordert werden.... und wurde nach Wunsch frisch serviert.“

„Ich verbrachte eine Nacht im HandHotel. Sehr schöne schicke Eingangshalle mit Bar. Das Zimmer war dann aber sehr einfach. Die Tapete bröselte teils und mein Fenstervorhang lies sich nur notdürftig öffnen. Insgesamt ein dem Zweck dienliches Hotel, aber so richtig gemütlich ist es nicht mehr. Hatte sicher einmal mehr Glanz, heute auf den zweiten Blick etwas veraltet. Das ist ist gut. Personal bemüht und meist freundlich.“
