„My family and I stayed here over Christmas for a couple of nights and we’re quite surprised with our stay, the house itself is lovely and the space was great for all the family to be together with our own rooms and the dogs loved it too, however I am disappointed to say the cleanliness of the manor was rather unsatisfactory. I would expect from any place you can book to stay for the rooms to be of a basic clean standard and I feel the manor wasn’t even slightly clean, there were dead bugs on ...

„As a 3 generation family group we all loved this place to stay. Fabulous location: amazing views of countryside, but close enough to the coast. Accommodation was comfortable (beds amazingly so), lots of games and activities for children, and of course the pool and hot tub which were very well used. Our hosts Mark and Georgina were very helpful and accommodating, and communicated really well. Highly recommended. Simon and family.“

„Stunning and well presented, secluded property - ideal for family or friends. It is an ancient building though - some furniture is very old and not pleasant but in keeping with the historical period. Some bathrooms also fell short of expectations but overall good facilities. Felt very welcome, it is a friendly place to stay at. Housekeeper exceptionally helpful.“

„Overnight stay for a family celebration. We all loved the building and private garden but found the kitchen disappointing. The dishwasher was ineffective, dinner plates too tall to fit, so we had to hand wash dishes & there wasn’t enough washing up liquid. The fridge didn’t have any shelves and we had to stack food on the base, luckily we could chill drinks briefly in the freezer. “

„We’ve just returned from 3 nights at East Lodge. What can I say other than wow! It’s a great little house, quirky and unique, in a really beautiful and remote setting. There’s no light or noise pollution, just peace and quiet, plus the fantastic backdrop of Chillingham Castle at the end of the garden. East Lodge is well equipped, the guidebook is detailed and helpful and Max was a great host. We loved the log burner and the house has everything else you could possibly need for a short stay. The ...
