Proximity to the car free main Street with many restaurants and movie theater within about five or six blocks.This apartment was the only one that was on the upper level so there was no one on either side and it was very quiet. „Lovely space with full kitchen, dining and bath and a comfy full size bed. My only complaint is that due to the weather the space was very cold throughout. The one room heater provided in the front room is not sufficient. I had to turn on the oven and open the door to keep the chill out then turn it off once I went to bed. A recommendation: Maybe the owner can provide another heating source for the other part of the space. Aside from that, I do plan to come back.“

„This was a great duplex!! It was steps to the sandy beach. I enjoyed my stay, although I was in contact with the host everyday due to NO TV. So if you like a little tv to unwind, make sure they fixed the tv. I say if it’s not working, do not list it as a feature. This was 3 days of messages back and forth with no success. Thankfully I have family nearby and I was able to walk on the beach twice a day. “

„Good location. We walked to Saturday farmers market. Visited Sara Cruz island and watched rocket launch from Grants Park. Private parking spot was very helpful. Good amount of space for myself &11 year old grandson. Used washer & dryer easily. Make sure you have quarters. Neighbors in above unit kind of noisy. All & all a good spot.“

„The place is beautiful! We had us, our adult daughter, her boyfriend and our two younger kids. We could have fit more people if we needed to. The decor is cute, the place was clean, a short walk to the beach and some restaurants or if you got in the car the harbor area is just a 5 minute drive! If the opportunity presents itself, we will definitely stay her again!“

There’s quite a few things we are unhappy with: the sleeping situation is probably the most horrible we’ve dealt with in a very long time. The pullout bed is a mess. „We flew into town for a family event and chose to find a place for us to retreat to rather than stay with family, and to make our travels a little bit of a vacation than just a family visit. „Booked this listing, all seemed well. No contact from the property owner, but assumed they’d reach out as we got closer to the trip. The day of check-in, I still had not heard from the owner. I called the number on the VRBO listing and it was clearly a burner phone. Had no way of accessing the property with lack of response. Had to scramble and find new accommodations last minute. I’ve never had such a horrible experience.“

„Our stay at Mandalay Shores was perfect. We stayed in the two bedroom near the beach. Parking was not a problem in mid March , we parked in front the unit on our six day stay. The pool was behind our unit and the guest who used it were very quiet. Cute and cozy beach spot in Oxnard, would return on next visit. “

„Owner was great, responses quick and will be there on a same day when something is broken. The furniture is cool and very worthy but it's very worn. Bathrooms very worthy and clean, but the doors and the surfaces of the furniture was very dirty and dusty, the BBQ either. House needs new paint from outside and a little TLC inside. We were a large group of friends 19 and 3 kids but we spent a great time there and we would do it again. Thank you for having a great time “
